Emphasis on Early Learning
At Bloomington Public Schools, preparation for college begins immediately. We believe that early education helps provide a foundation for future learning, so we offer a variety of preschool programs that take a comprehensive and holistic school-based approach to develop early cognition and pre-reading skills. Early Childhood Family Education courses give parents an opportunity to play an active role in their children's education, regardless of their education level or native language, to ensure successful learning in school continues at home.

Accelerated Learning Opportunities
Studies show that gifted students who are not challenged to their full potential, can become disengaged in regular classroom instruction. Bloomington Public Schools gifted & talented programs are known internationally for their successful programs for students whose outstanding academic talent, advanced motivation, and performance at high levels, indicate their need for in-depth, complex and rigorous curriculum and instruction. Gifted and talented opportunities begin in second grade when parents and teachers begin to decipher the unique talent of young learners, through high school with rigorous advanced placement courses.
